Adele's Interiors

Leeda Mill soft furnishings & fabrics began life with partners Adele & Gordon setting up work from their 1860s Victorian house called Sunny Bank. It was one of the first houses to be built in the area, and is located on a Sunny Bank beside a lazy stream near to the famous John Willy Lees Brewery. They are still renovating their home which is close to completion. One of their first tasks was to convert the large run-down garage into a work room for Adele to lay fabric out & sew in. The business ticked along nicely for the first year with clients from the local area placing orders for made-to-measure curtains & bedding. Adele was known to customers from her previous managerial background as a fabric Floor Manager for Dunelm, and the market leading Fabric Warehouse in Altrincham & Hale Barns Cheshire.
Adele & Gordon decided to search for suitable shop premises in & around Lancashire. Their journey brought them to Bury, which was an up & coming market town with vibrant diversity shining through. Adele & Gordon stumbled upon the former premises of the Curtain & Fabric centre, and it was just what they were looking for. It was once a thriving fabric & interior shop renowned for its massive fabric range, Haberdashery & quality made-to-measure curtains & blind products. Interior designers, sewers, students & craft conscious people a like used to flock to the site. Sadly, it had fallen on hard times, and the shop was in a poor state of repair, down-trodden tired & badly run down.
Gordon & Adele decided that this challenging space was exactly what they were looking for, and although on a strict budget they set to work with good friend JJ the carpenter who helped them to repair this tired shell so that they could begin to breath new life into it. A long hard slog of five months elapsed, with long hours & many late nights. This eventually resulted in something amazing happening; the old tired unit was now an interior fabric and soft furnishing store once more. It now had a smile on its face, and was repainted, repaired, re-carpeted, and fitted out. It was once again filled with wonderful products chosen by Adele & accompanied by her amazing interior ideas and fabric choices, and so Leeda Mill Ltd was born.
